The Goddess

I hid behind the door,
I did not know, you would find me,

I hid beneath my bed,
I did not know you would drag me out,

I hid in the kitchen,
I did not think you would slash my wrist,

I screamed my lungs out,
I did not know you would break my face,

I hid in the open,
I knew you are afraid of that,

For the monster that you are,
I hid you from the world.

Then I stood up tall,
You had nothing more to break.

I hid behind my smile,
For I knew nothing else will destroy you.

One day, you will kneel.
If not in love,
You will kneel in fear.

For the Goddess, she is.
You will not be spared.
